Have you heard of Stephanie Dosen? She is a designer, extraordinarily amazingly cheerful person, and just generally fantastic knitter. She invented the hexipuff.

The first hexipuff I knitted for my own Beekeeper’s Quilt was on a tube, travelling to get JS‘ violin bow rehaired. I’m shocked I can remember that, but it’s a mark of how amazing they are!

Hexipuff, hexipuff, hexipuff

I bow down to the superiority of the hexipuff. Especially if they make us as happy as Stephanie, who could be a cat, and could have put catnip in them instead of lavender.

I don’t mean that in a bad way, really. I love her enthusiasm. Stephanie, you are an inspiration.

The basic premise of the Beekeeper’s Quilt is that you knit tiny, tiny hexagons, stuff them, sew them together, and lounge on the cushion of smooshy, amazing loveliness that you have created. It takes a long time, and no time at all – each puff is quick, but you may need to make a fair few before you make a quilt. It doesn’t matter, you forget about this fact. They’re addictive.

This is one of the shortest Friday Inspirations I’ve ever written. If you are a knitter and this video doesn’t persuade you that knitting is like being on drugs, you’re doing something wrong. If you’re not a knitter, why not?
