I must knit Chetna’s sweater

Did anyone watching the Great British Bake Off fall as in love with Chetna’s sweater as I did? John and I were both sitting and enjoying (well…he was under duress, but I was enjoying), when I suddenly said “OH MY GOD I MUST KNIT THAT SWEATER”. The poor chap was quite shaken.

Enwezor was also sporting some fantastic knitwear, but I surreptitiously tried to figure out what John thought of it and he wasn’t too impressed. Not that he’s ever going to get a boyfriend sweater.

Chetna’s Sweater

I have only one photo of the sweater – the rest are courtesy of me being super dedicated and taking screenshots on my computer while looking for money shots to show you. All photos are copyright the BBC and I have no ownership over them.

So, here we go with some of those money shots that I managed to grab.

My question to you is; does anybody know where I can find a knitting pattern for a sweater like that? Have you designed one like this? It is just so gorgeous, although I may be completely swayed by the colour (which is *incredible*). Anyway, I’d like to try making this a project for 2015, so any help would be appreciated!

I’m sure there’s probably some great history in those patterns, but I know almost nothing so I’d like to know of a starting point that I can begin from to look into it.

Enwezor’s sweater

I’m less enamoured by Enwezor’s sweater and probably will never knit something like this – upon closer inspection I’m much less enthusiastic about it, but for the sake of a complete trail of my thoughts, here you are.

Yes, I think under closer inspection, I don’t like the ribbing on the arms. Or the hood.

But it is nearly autumn and therefore nearly sweater weather! I am very excited about this – as much as I love summer, I have an excellent selection of warm clothes and very few summer tops – my bank also prefers winter!

What are you looking forward to wearing as the weather turns?

Much love,

Corrie xx

Love that sweater too. I took a look through Rav and have 2 close contenders:
50-23 Sweater in Muskat with cables or Dancing Ribbon Aran. If someone locates the actual pattern, please share.
