Progress on projects

When you’re knitting big projects and you run a blog, you have a choice to make – work on the projects, or spend time blogging. As I’m sure you can tell from my silence over the last week, I’ve made the choice to work on my projects!

One of my resolutions for 2014 was to knit three things for myself – although I have three on the go, one of these projects is for a friend. I do think that getting to the end of January with two on the go is not a bad piece of progress!

Garland

It’s been a while since I posted a photo of Garland – I had managed 2 cm the last time! This is one of the projects that has seen the most progress…

I was rather stunned while I was at home, as I thought I had to knit 21 cm from the bottom of the piece – unfortunately for me, it was actually 21 cm from the top of the 5 cm of ribbing, so I had a lot more to do than I thought.

This probably does not sound as bad as it is…bearing in mind that I am knitting in lace-weight yarn on fairly small needles…I’m still not at the end of it, and have kind of lost motivation, which I need to find from somewhere…

Until then, I’m working on the other two projects…

Weasley Sweater

I finally cast on the Weasley Sweater, with a big pause in progress caused by lack of the right size of needles. I didn’t check my measurements properly and started knitting before thinking to text my friend and double-check what size I had to do.

I was two sizes out! Arghhhhh.

So, I unpicked and cast on again, and am now here. Given that I had reached the end of the back piece, I was not best pleased!

Erquy

I haven’t really worked on Erquy for a while, so we are here, and I expect it to stay here a while as I’m keen to finish the two sweaters. So, stand by!

Bags for Projects

I was given a bag for my 12th birthday by my parents, and in the card they had written “for the bag lady”. I’ve talked about this a million times, and I definitely do love my bags. Here are the three project bags I’m using at the moment – still on the look-out for more though!

Right, off the blog and on the needles…here I go!

Much love,

Corrie xx

  1. You are inspiringly ambitious! I’ll be coming back to watch these beauties take shape. And P.S.– I use bags, too. My second daughter makes ones perfectly sized for small projects. Love them!

Firstly love your joke and secondly what great projects but wow you have got three tricky projects on the go which makes my hedgehog project look minuscule x

You’re so right, getting the balance between blogging and knitting is really difficult! I love both but if I don’t knit I won’t have anything to blog about!
