Friday Inspirations — Shawn Achor

Shawn Achor JS and I watch TED Talks with dinner fairly regularly. Yes, yes, this is an anti-social way to have dinner, you’re supposed to sit around the table and converse — except our table is normally covered in the paraphernalia of JS‘ home office and my knitting/sewing goodies, and to be honest, it’s just easier.

Inspiring, too. The other night we watched this one, which is all about happiness at work. Traditionally I look at things like this and think “Blaaaah that looks really boooooring”. I thought that about this one.

How wrong I was.

Needle-Case -- Birthday (Copyright Corrie B)

This is highly topical. I’ve been unwell, and had a lot of time sitting in bed/in front of the iPad (which serves as my TV) doing some pretty deep soul-searching on what it means to be happy recently.

Without getting too involved I’ve decided I’m happy when I’m crafting (and when I’m looking after the menagerie — Needle-Case on the inside (Copyright Corrie B) may as well tell you all here that we have a new addition to the family, Vinny the Guinea Pig. Sorry Mum). While I’ve been in bed, I’ve hand-embroidered the patches which I put on the front of some needle cases. I’m going to make more and put them in my Vinny the Guinea (Copyright Corrie B) Folksy/Etsy shops soon, so if you’re interested, watch this space.

What would you have on the front of yours if you were to buy one?

Much love,

Corrie xx

    I would have flowers

  2. Corrie says:

Flowers like embroidered on the patch in front, or over the whole cover? Or a flowery covering to the needle case?
