I’m having some trouble with finding inspiring videos today — I’m not well and am feeling totally uninspired, even though I’m sure some of the stuff I have in my queue and that I’ve found anew would be good on any other day.
I don’t know if any of you listen to Podcasts? I have a few on my list – I’m always trying to find more, but I do it in a fairly controlled way so that I can appreciate the ones I have rather than having a huge list that I am pressured into listening to.
iMake Podcast
This was the first podcast I ever started listening to – before any of the news and information ones, even.
Martine is the author and host of the iMake blog, and the iMake podcast. I found it by searching for “knitting” on iTunes — although she does cover knitting, the Guernsey-based Martine covers a huge number of crafts, as well as a regular feature on Guernsey. The first episode has been handily included here – click on the link to go to the audio – but if you want to hear more, find it on iTunes or on iMake.gg.
Episode 1 of iMake podcast – A Podcast is Born
When I first started listening to the podcast, I was a bit unconvinced (sorry Martine!). I persevered, and last weekend while driving around Kent for a wedding, I finally caught up to the current episode while JS slept in the car. (I started listening on and off in January, when walking JS‘ dog when he was staying with us.)
I totally love it now. Looking forward to future episodes, and following the blog eagerly now! Martine’s voice is really soothing, and her ideas really fresh. She has a few regular contributors, has monthly giveaways and deals from sponsors or supporters of the blog, and structures the blog in a way that as a scientist, I find extremely pleasing! Have a listen, I urge you. Take note that on a day where nothing inspires me, this is what I choose as my inspiration…it’s that good!
Does anybody else have any podcasts they recommend? I’m always looking for audio to listen to while knitting/working on repetitive tasks, and now that I’ve caught up on iMake completely, I’m lacking things to occupy my overactive mind!
Much love,
Corrie xx
Hi Corrie
Thanks so much for this lovely post! I am glad you stuck with the podcast (and the blog) and you are enjoying it :-) It’s so nice of you to write about me. Your blog’s great by the way – just about to have a mooch round….
Thanks again
Martine
