(Another) New Chapter…beyond knitting

Don’t understand the title of this post (what is a new chapter?)? No, me neither. It’s hard to think of a good title that isn’t this:

I GOT THE JOB!!!

I found out this morning in the middle of a Les Miserables rehearsal, and had to spend the day jiggling about in my seat, joyous but unable to run around like the mad thing I felt like. It’s all happened very quickly – I had the first interview on Monday, second on Tuesday, and my references were checked yesterday.

I start in September, so plenty of time for crafty shenanigans in the meantime, and my hours will be 8 am to 5 pm, which will suit me just fine! I’ll be moving back up to London right at the end of August, and JS and some friends have already found me a flat. Life has suddenly started shining brightly.

It was also my birthday yesterday, and I was treated to my mimosa pudica (“sensitive plant”) flowering when I woke up. I’ve had over twenty of these plants and never managed to make one flower. Happy Birthday indeed!

Knitting is still going…

Don’t worry, all of this is not going to have any impact on my knitting. Well, I might finish things a bit slower, but that’s probably not a bad thing! Speaking of which…JS and I went to watch the Wimbledon Mens Finals at a square in London last weekend, and I got my knitting out. Sitting in the sun, tennis in the background, g&t in a glass…it was a perfect day.

My baby blanket is doing well – I’m just over halfway done, with plenty of knitting being done in the orchestra pit on the set of Les Mis! We were doing technical rehearsals today, and I attracted many looks as I sat knitting with my violin on my lap, juggling the needles and my bow as required!

The show is from Wednesday to Saturday next week. I am having so much fun rehearsing for it, but this is why I’m a bit quiet on a blogging front!

That’s all from me for now, I’m off to do some exercise…

Much love,

Corrie xx

PS Sorry about the !!!!!’s! It’s been an exciting day.

Sorry I’m late on commenting…I was away at camp with my kids.

Love that you are knitting at the Tennis match.
