Hypothetical knitting pub…

The Robin Hood and Little John pub in Camberwell (Copyright Corrie B) There is a pub just down the road from our flat which is for sale at the moment. It’s called the “Robin Hood and Little John”, and looks absolutely huge from the outside. I can’t say I’ve ever had the pleasure to go in — it’s been closed as long as we’ve lived here — but that doesn’t stop me dreaming…

He looked at me in a highly sceptical way, told me it was an absolutely horrible pub and that he would never consider buying it, and we carried on our way. Hasn’t stopped me though — I’ve got a pinboard on Pinterest which I’m

using to try figure out ways of storing my yarn in a displayed way, and half of the ideas I’ve got in there have been inspired by the pub.

It’s nothing that special — when I told JS we could have a knitting room and a folk room in addition to all the normal pub stuff, he didn’t really believe me…but the whole point of it being just an ordinary building rather than one steeped in centuries of history, is that I would never worry about ripping things down and out. Imagine a knitting room with full length yarn storage on the walls, full length windows, a good sound system, sofas, and a whole pub full of wine for our leisure. Plus a fire, thats essential. Instant love.

If you could rip a pub apart and assemble your knitting paradise, what would be in it? What would you put into just a normal pub if knitting isn’t your forte?

Anyway, it won’t happen. I’m very happy in my job, and if I could afford to buy buildings, I’d probably sort out my housing situation first! It’s just nice to dream.

Much love,

Corrie xx

PS I have saved some of these photos from my Pinterest board – if they don’t have a Copyright statement on them, I do not own the rights to them in any way.

PPS JS and I were messing around on the bus yesterday. How is this for attractive?!
