Blazing Rainbows – spinning fibre!

I’m super thrilled to have just managed to list some of my favourite fibre on Etsy – blazing rainbows! I’ve had this for a little while and have been spinning up a sample, but there are Things happening with my spinning wheel so it has to wait.

Blazing Rainbows

I designed Blazing Rainbows in the summer and thought that it would be perfect for this horrible, cloudy February day. I wanted something bright sparkly and beautiful, and it fit the bill perfectly. The first few batts were blended up of 100% British merino, with trilobal nylon to provide sparkle. They proved really popular at craft shows, and I’ve nearly run out. Once they’re gone, they’re gone – these are here.

I then managed to get some roving made up for me using the same colours. Each braid is fat and gorgeous, with 100g of fibre or more in each. I got enough roving for 20 braids…but of course, couldn’t handle letting them all go, so I currently have 19 available. These haven’t hit the craft fairs yet, as I haven’t yet been to any, but when they do I expect they will go quickly, so you’ve had fair warning! These are here.

I’m enjoying dreaming up fibre blends in my studio, while also working on some other things. I’m having to divide my time between spinning, knitting, cross stitch and card-making, and finding it quite tough! I made this card in my studio the other day (a custom order, it’s now sold), and my two ‘assistants’ wreaked havoc.

Tonks knocked over a jar of roving solar dyeing on the window sill, and Chase discovered a pile of Hebridean fleeces and tore one of them up. They both absolutely love it in there – I’m sure I will too, once the weather is slightly warmer and I don’t feel quite so chilly and isolated when the wind is blowing!

Better go and knit a bit more furiously – I’ve got a scarf on the needles that is dragging like mad.

Much love,

Corrie xx
